We are thrilled to share the incredible success of the 3rd Annual Music to Save a Life concert, an event dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of living organ donation. The turnout was nothing short of amazing, with the community coming together in a powerful show of support! The pleasant weather set the perfect backdrop for all in attendance to share the evening together listening to great music from the Talbott Brothers, and hearing touching stories about living organ donation and the critical need for organ donors.
One touching story that was sparked from a social media post about an individual in need of a kidney transplant culminated at the event. A young woman in Arizona saw this post and without hesitation, reached out and offered to be tested to be the donor. The two had been in contact virtually and met for the first time in person at the concert. In addition, many family members and friends of the young man came to the concert to meet this possible donor.
Our guest speaker, Mike Robison, photographer with Fox 10 Phoenix, shared his story about donating a kidney to his brother brought words of love and hope to others. The takeaway message Mike wanted to emphasize is why would you not say “yes” to organ donation aside from heath reasons? Mike says, “Physically, I feel no different than I did after the surgery then before.” This was one of the easiest things for him to give and one of the most important things for his brother, Steve, to receive. After this experience, Mike has become a passionate advocate for living organ donation and wants everyone to know there is a significant need for donors out there.
Raising awareness through powerful events like this concert not only educates the public but also encourages more people to consider becoming donors. Ultimately helping to save and improve countless lives. We couldn’t do an event like this alone; many boots were on the ground and hands behind the scenes.
We are so grateful for everyone who attended and supported this event. Your presence and generosity helped us raise nearly $25,000 for Transplant Community Alliance (TCA), which surpassed our expectations. These funds stay local and go directly to funding the emotional and social support programs that TCA offers to transplant recipients and their families/caregivers.
Thank you to Fox 10 Phoenix for featuring our event on the morning program and bringing much-needed attention to this important cause. We appreciate the Elk’s Lodge of Scottsdale for their hospitality and providing such a fun and welcoming venue for our event.
It was a pleasure having Donate Life of Arizona in attendance this year showing their support and offering an opportunity for people interested in becoming organ donors to register at the event.
Once again, we send a special thank you to the Hebets Family. Their passion for educating the community about living donation led to the creation of Music to Save a Life. Without them these stories and concert would not have been heard. The success of the concert is a direct reflection of their passion and hard work. We are honored to have this amazing partnership and to be the beneficiary of this remarkable event.
Thank you once again to everyone who made this event possible. Your support and generosity are making a real difference in the lives of those in need. Together, we are saving lives and spreading hope. We look forward to seeing everyone at next year’s event.
